Sometimes You Just Need to be…Alone

Being alone means more than just reading or watching television. It means more than just sitting and enjoying a video game. Being alone means relaxing and in your own little world where no one can disturb you. It’s a time of purity and harmony. Sometimes you just like you need your own space where you can feel the silence of nature and peace. Being alone can help you work things out in you mind. It feels great having time by yourself. Take some time out and just relax.

What is it Like in a Canadian Courtroom?

What is a Courtroom?

A courtroom is a room where justice. Witnesses tell the judge their testimony to prove the accused guilty but we assume they are innocent until they are proven guilty. There are many special jobs and people in a testimony The most important job is the judge. The judge listens carefully to each side of the story. He also provides a safe and comfortable environment for the people involved in this testimony. S/he or the jury provides that the accused is either guilty or non-guilty. The Court Clerk is the judge’s assistant. She or he prepares the Courtroom for the judges arrival. She also listens and speaks for the judge when the event in the public benches gets too loud.

When you’re standing before the courthouse you will likely observe an array of pastel colored flowers and many other heavenly plants. Most of the time their is a water fountain where people drop coins in for good luck. You will rarely witness little children splashing around the cool water. Once you have entered the silent room you will usually see a Canadian or Provincial Coat of Arms. There also a flag hanging from the stands. On the outside the building looks like a smaller version o the White house. On the inside like a giant bold castle, You will hear silent chatter in bundles around the room. Before you come into the major courtroom you will be put through a security test just like in an airport. During court you might feel nervous or scared and sometimes even embarrassed to be their. As the accused you can probably imagine what he would be feeling.

I am sure that the victim or witness would be terribly frightened to be near the accused. The victim must be glad to report what had happened. I haven’t ever been in a court house but I have seen the outside of one. It is almost like a golden palace my eyes. Flags and and bushels of color everywhere. I think a courtroom is beautiful. I wish that someday I would get to tour a Court house. How about you? What do like about a courthouse and why do like it ?

It’s Odd Day! (Beware, it’s frightning)

Okay, imagine everybody in your school or place of work dressed odd. Your teacher or boss is dressed in lime green pants, a honey yellow tie, one red sock and one teal sock and a light orange top with pink polka dots. Do you think you would ever wear that for odd day? Now picture your dog or cat wearing tiny blue cat stockings. I look across the room and observe Daniel.C. wearing a odd paper hat.. The boy’s all have ponytails in their hair, well, not a lot of them. It;s hard to imagine but please try. Try your best not to be frightened when you picture this image. Yes I am afraid this day would come, where my class is quiet and nothings in a rush. Be careful or the red and teal, honey, lime green orange with pink polka dots boss or teacher will come for you!

It’s a Bird! It’s a Plane! It’s…

My Mom!

My mom and I have always stuck together through hard moments. We’ve been frustrated with each other, we’ve had our share of foolish fights and we have definitelyhad our agreements and our disagreements. No one could ever separate us we are like an unbreakable linked chain. We protect and take care of each other and we have pleasant conversations. Have you ever heard of “Father, Daughter” relatiobships? Well with my mom and I it’s stronger than that.   Our bond is a never ending bond!

Roadtrip + My Grandpa = Diasaster!

Every week my grandpa and I go for a road-trip. But every time something disastrous happens. Like one time…

The Banfield Excursion

We were now leaving town early in the morning. The roads were buzzing with early work traffic. The sun had just barely risen by the time we had hit the old island highway. The highway stretched out like a never ending still river. We stopped in Parksville to get a salty snack. We drove for almost 4 hours until we finally reached the small village like community. We sat on the splintered dock for a while. We decided to lazily leave town. We hopped in the old lumina and slowly rolled out of town. About a half hour after we left town we hit disaster. All four tires blew out. We sat and we sat and we sat finally a SUV rolled up and they offered us a ride! So that cold night we spent in a hotel near the edge of Port Hardy. The next day we left town and got home safely with out any more disaster.

See what I mean? It’s always “Real fun.” Oh and before I let you go, DO NOT ATTEMPT AT HOME!

My D.A.R.E Essay

Hello, my name is Brianne and I’m writing to inform you about an amazing program called D.A.R.E.

D.A.R.E is a program that teaches about the effects of drinking, smoking and doing other drugs. The D.A.R.E decision making model is a good strategy to use. If you are in a situation where someone wants you to try drinking, smoking or other drugs. It’s also what D.A.R.E stands for.

The D.A.R.E Decision Making Model

D. Define the problem: Describe the problem

A. Assess: What are you’re choices?

R. Respond: Make a choice

E. Evaluate: Did you make a good choice and would you use it again?

D.A.R.E Rules

1. Raise you’re hand so only one person speaks at a time.
2. Be positive and respectful. A put down can cause hurt feelings.
3. Observe and use the silent signal
4. Use the words” Someone I know” instead of saying a persons name
5. Answer only the questions that you are comfortable with.

The Effects of Tobacco

Smoking and chewing can cause health and breathing problems. Tobacco can cause more colds and upper respiratory problems and can also cause lung disease and cancer. Tobacco is the number one cause of health difficulties. There are more than two hundred known toxins in cigarette smoke. This drug can put risks on you’re friend and family.

The Effects of Marijuana

This drug can cause short term memory loss and there are four hundred known toxins. Another name for marijuana is Cannabis. This drug tends to slow your reaction time. Like tobacco, Cannabis is illegal in Canada.

The Effects of Alcohol

If you have a large amount of liquor it can slow you’re mind and body down and lead you to a coma or death, Alcohol is a depressant drug, 341mL of beer, 142mL of wine and 43mL of other liquor all contain the equal amount of liquor.

My name is Brianne and thank you for reading my D.A.R.E essay.

My D.A.R.E Pledge

I am committed and will always be to the D.A.R.E program. I know the dangers and I do not want to be hurt by drugs, tobacco and alcohol.

Spring Movie Mania!

Hi It’s me again, I made a video that expresses the way I feel about Spring. The movie is kind of like a poem. It doesn’t rhyme but it has a rhythm to it. The music I created goes along with the cheerful feeling of the movie. I think the music has a good spring expressing piano beat!

An Out of the Ordinary Day!

I was walking into the backyard and suddenly I witnessed my brother jumping on the trampoline. He took a double bounce and then flew 9f high!  I scurried away and skipped to my grandparent’s farm.

I took a small break and had lunch at the local zoo. I decided to walk around the zoo just long enough to let the burger and fries settle. On my way back I took a halt outside one of the exotic animal cages. I could not believe my eyes but I thought I had seen to baby Meer cats hugging!

When I got to the fence of the farm, I saw my favorite hulk action figure smashed into a billion different pieces. Then I started to realize this day is going to be out of the ordinary for sure.

I slowly walked to my grandpa’s truck and his pig Booboo was on a replica of a diving board. It was a very unstable board. What he did was a harmful stump. He hopped three times and then he jumped off the platform and spun a pirouette.

I skipped into the warm cottage like farm house. I could smell the scent of grandma’s homemade peanut butter cookies. I stalked into the sweet smelling kitchen and in my surprise grandma was frowning down at me. She started to shout at me. I couldn’t understand a single word she was saying. I started my way out of the farm.

I was on my way home when I saw a toddler fall of her tricycle. She started calling for her mom. I kneeled down and spoke softly. I said “are you okay?’ she asked if I could go inside and get her mother. I said of course. When she was all fixed up, we went to the park. And we had a picnic.

I was finally home but my mom asked me to help my dad with the shopping list. With the amount of spelling mistakes my dad had made, we had used up three large erasers. When that was over we sat and had a nice dinner. I didn’t know at the time but, it turns out my mom had little surprise for me. I am worried.

We all hopped into the dodge and drove off to the doctor’s office. We entered the sanitary building and checked in. Fifteen minutes later my name was called. We went into the white and quiet room. The doctor shuffled into the room. I muttered the words “why today? I was supposed to be playing soccer right now!” When we got home that night I ran to my room. I fell asleep very quickly. In the morning I was glad to know everything was back to normal in the morning!
